Financial Communication

Financial communication is the empirical and critical research at the intersection of finance and communication. Its scholarship examines the causes, processes, and effects of communication by formal financial institutions, governments, media organizations, financial advisors, and everyday conversation partners. These include consumer socialization, media effects, consumer knowledge acquisition, and transfer; the practices, processes, content, and policy issues relevant to finances; financial practices and behaviors; and attitudes toward financial issues (e.g., credit cards, lending, debt, and spending behaviors).
