WinPepi
WinPepi (or Pepi-for-Windows) is a suite of freeware computer programs for epidemiologists, developed for use in practice and research in the health field and as learning or teaching aids. This entry describes the origins of this suite of programs, details its characteristics and contents, and presents several illustrations of its uses.
Origins
WinPepi had its origins in a set of programs for programmable pocket calculators that was published in book form in 1983 with the stated aim of making life easier for investigators, extending the use of appropriate analytic methods, and enabling researchers to concentrate on substantive issues rather than on procedural technicalities.
