a sophisticated and complex set of statistical procedures which can be used to carry out confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis on quantitative variables. It enables the statistical fit of models depicting the relationship between variables to be determined. Various statistical packages have been developed to carry it out including AMOS, EQS and LISREL.
