You can preview and download the dataset from this tab. The dataset is broken into two files types, Edges and Nodes, and is available in multiple file formats, compatible with most common software packages. You can also view and download the Codebook, which provides information on the structure, contents, and layout of the dataset.
This dataset is designed for teaching the sampling technique called respondent-driven sampling. The dataset is a subset of data derived from the 2008 UK Faculty dataset, and the dataset is about tens of faculty members from different departments in a UK University, which is the population of interest in this guide. The example illustrates how to use respondent-driven sampling to obtain a sample of faculty members of that population and then make inferences about the population. The dataset file is accompanied by a Teaching Guide, a Student Guide, and a How-to Guide for R.
