This dataset demonstrates an approach for analysing transcripts of medical consultations as a type of naturally occurring talk. This data is provided by Dr. Alexandra Hillman from Cardiff University and includes three transcripts from audio recordings of clinical consultations in a large United Kingdom memory clinic and handwritten fieldnotes. The example outlines an ethnographic approach to these transcripts, focusing on the form and content of the interaction, and also taking into account issues of space, materiality, and aspects of non-verbal communication. The dataset file is accompanied by a teaching guide and a student guide.
