A Phenomenological Case Study: Strategy Development in Small and Medium Retail Enterprises in Greece during Recession

Abstract

In this case, I report some of the experiences I had during the journey of obtaining my PhD, an endeavour that was driven by my interest in understanding how strategic decision-making happens in small- and medium-sized retail companies in Greece. My major research interest focuses on the retail location decision-making process because locational decisions represent the major strategic decision for a retail company as they involve massive and usually long-term bounding investments.
