Abstract

This case study describes the benefits and issues associated with conducting a photovoice study in health psychology research. Specifically, it details the use of photovoice methods to explore how women with polycystic ovary syndrome define and perceive their quality of life. This case provides researchers with a basic understanding of how to conduct a study using photovoice. It sheds light on the ethical considerations in photovoice research and the different approaches to photovoice study design to date. In addition, this case study provides an example of photovoice in action. It also discusses the practical issues a researcher should consider before beginning a study utilizing photovoice. Finally, this case study describes some novel aspects of photovoice research found in this study.
