Examining the Linkages Between Leader Humility, Leader Envy, and Innovation: A Study of R&D Teams

Abstract

The present case study presents the use of surveys to collect quantitative data at the team level. The data collection started in November 2019 and went on till December 2020. This case discusses the process of conducting research and the choices we made at different stages from research design and planning to administering the survey. Many times, datasets might not be readily available that can be used, and in such cases it becomes essential to collect primary data that is aligned with the research question and the sample requirements of the study. The case gives an opportunity to understand the research process and data collection along with the associated challenges. It provides an insight in how it was tackled and possible ways to mitigate the negative impact of these challenges that one might face in the process of research.
