Case
Abstract
Conducting field-based research with teacher participants can be difficult, particularly in the area of recruiting teacher participants and retaining them in the study. This case study will give readers an example the Trials One research team experienced when attempting to recruit a large number of inservice special education teachers to assist in the development of a new transition assessment, the Transition Assessment and Goal Generator. The proposed sampling procedure will be described as well as the modifications that were made to the sampling procedure to recruit and retain teacher participants due to the many reasons why teachers were unable to participate. We conclude the case study with a list of lessons learned from this research.
