Abstract
This case is an example of a prospective, noninterventional, cohort study. Conducting research at a facility that caters to a population with various health-related vulnerabilities comes with unprecedented challenges. This case study provides an insight into the opportunities and practical challenges a team of clinical researchers faced when carrying out empirical research around the topic of psychiatric comorbidity in neurological disorders and the importance of a multidisciplinary team approach to chronic illness management.
