Should I be asking research questions in a report?

We tend to think of reports as being there to provide answers for the reader, but this does not mean that they are closed-off documents, which do not allow for any speculation at all. Whereas in a dissertation you might find a series of research questions, either implied or explicit, cropping up throughout the work, with some of them answered as the work progresses, in a report there is usually a more formal approach to research questions.
