What is distinctive about a report?

This chapter will be shorter than its dissertation counterpart, partly because reports are so widely used that they have taken on a life of their own, with multiple variations in how they are produced and presented. However, there are some standard aspects to reports:

  • Bound: Although you might not be required to pay out for a commercial binding service, it would be unusual for a report simply to be stapled together; more usually, it would be in a report wallet or bound in some way.
