Sections and chapters
Dissertations are sometimes divided into chapters, sometimes into sections, and sometimes both are used. Reports are divided using numbered headings which show the importance of the material in each section, moving from a main level heading down to second, third and fourth level headings and so on (this was discussed in detail in the part on planning).
How you divide material will relate directly back to your plan: each section of your plan will represent a main section (or chapter) of your finished document.
