Computer-Mediated Discourse Analysis
The subject of this chapter is computer-mediated discourse (CMD)—discourse produced using digital technologies and media. Of course, this is not the first time CMD has been mentioned: we have mentioned it in some form in every one of the previous chapters, and we have also analysed examples. In this discussion, however, we look more closely at what is distinctive about CMD, and consider some of the approaches that have been developed to analyse it.
