Description
Activities during training to assess trainee perception of training. (Note: M&E activities during training are one of several methods to evaluate training—see Chapter 11.)
Advantages
These activities help monitor trainee satisfaction and comfort, which are useful to make adjustments and improvements during training and improve future training (supporting Adult Learning Principles 1; Chapter 4: Table 4.4). Training monitoring and evaluation activities can help determine whether training has achieved its objectives (i.e., trainees felt it was worthwhile, that they learned something). These activities help to uphold and demonstrate accountability and value for trainee feedback/information. They can also be empowering for trainees, providing an important vehicle to express negative or positive feedback (Adult Learning Principles 4 and 14).
