Advantages
Review activities reinforce key learning points for trainees, helping them to organize and clarify material for better understanding and retention (Adult Learning Principle 12; Chapter 4; Table 4.4). Review activities are especially important for longer training or complex topics. In addition to reinforcing learning, they are also valuable to assist both learners and trainers to monitor learning progress and give and receive feedback on areas to improve (Adult Learning Principle 14).
Disadvantages
Review activities take time away from the introduction of new material, and advanced participants might find them to be redundant or of low interest.
