Conclusions, Further Reading, and Regression
As an introduction to power analysis, the primary focus of this volume was to outline the interplay between sample design (e.g., sample size) and design parameters (e.g., effect size). A power analysis combines these elements to produce an estimate of the chance of detecting the effect, should it exist. A power analysis can also assume a chance of detecting an effect, and seek to estimate the necessary sample size or minimum detectable effect.
