Of the hundreds of existing personality inventories, only one is selected for presentation here. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2(tm), or MMPI, is described but not reproduced. It is a battery of scales containing 550 statements. It is thorough and so well constructed that it has generally won the confidence of researchers as the best scale to use in probing the personality. The research applications included in the description of the instrument attest its use.
