In Chapter Fifteen we took the day-to-day practice of social workers as a reference point. In this final chapter we explore more broadly the consequences, career and influences of qualitative research. We immediately will see that, although this is far from straightforward, a qualitative approach to unwrapping the issues enriches our understanding. We open with a general outline of thinking about the ‘impacts’ of research, and broad ways in which qualitative research is socially relevant.
