In the previous chapters, we have considered the epistemological foundations of quantitative analyses, the basic components needed for quantitative analyses, many of the quantitative analyses used with experimental and non-experimental research, and reviewed published examples using these analyses. In this chapter, we consider the strengths and limitations of quantitative analyses as well as criteria that can be used to evaluate quantitative analyses. When considering both the strengths and limitations, it is important to remember that these are simply the possible strengths and limitations. The use of quantitative analyses does not guarantee that the research will benefit from the strengths or suffer due to the limitations.
