Evaluating the Account of Our Research: How do we evaluate the evidence-based account of our learning?

In Chapter 7 we claimed that we are having some educational influence in our own and other people's learning. We went on, in Chapter 8, to produce examples of how we believe our learning is influencing the learning of other people in different social formations. We now have to ask whether we are exercising our educational influence in the learning of you, our reader. To influence the learning of readers, who are absent in space and time, however, means communicating the work through a text of some kind, which is a mediated form of communication rather than face-to-face communication.
