The number of charts and tables that should be included depends upon who the audience is, as well as the purpose of the report. For an academic audience, most journals limit the number of tables and charts to five or fewer. Therefore, we often see only a few, but really large tables in academic journals. One of those tables will be an introduction to the sample used for the analyses.
