A line chart is a visual representation of noncategorical data that uses a line to represent values of the x-axis. To create a line chart using Excel, follow these steps:

  • In a new worksheet, enter the categories as well as the number of times each category appears as in the following table, which shows quarterly income in thousands of dollars.
  • Highlight all the data.
