Factor, Crossed

A crossed factor is a researcher-manipulated variable in a randomized experiment using a crossed factorial design. A crossed factorial design involves the researcher manipulating two or more independent variables (referred to as factors in such designs) in a way that every condition (referred to as levels in such designs) of the individual factors is exposed to all levels of the other factors.
