A research proposal is a succinctly written document outlining the premise of the research to be conducted. More specifically, a research proposal addresses the research that one wants to conduct, establishing that the research has not already been conducted and justifying that the research will provide a necessary contribution. As applicable, the research proposal also discusses the time it will take to complete that research, and any other considerations necessary to complete the research such as money, equipment, and lab components.
