Scholarly publications are outlets for the dissemination of the results of academic research. Scholarly publications appear in a wide variety of forms, including books, edited volumes, yearbooks or handbooks, and journal articles. Some publications are submitted to a process of peer review prior to publication, whereas others are reviewed by one or more editors.
