You can preview and download the dataset from this tab. The dataset is available in multiple file formats, compatible with most common software packages. You can also view and download the Codebook, which provides information on the structure, contents, and layout of the dataset.
This dataset is designed for teaching Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The dataset is a subset of data derived from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 1998–99 (ECLSK) at the National Center for Education Statistics, and the example shows how to test whether kindergarten students’ scores on a general knowledge test in the Spring differ across income categories, adjusting for their general knowledge score from the preceding Fall. The dataset file is accompanied by a Teaching Guide, a Student Guide, and a How-to Guide for Stata. The Student Guide and data curation were done by the Odum Institute, and the How-to Guide was co-authored by Abigail-Kate Reid and Nick Allum.
