Response Rate

A response rate is the ratio of the number of participants in a study to the number of participants who were asked to participate. Several formulas have been developed to calculate response rates, which are based on different definitions of what it means to have fully participated and how to count eligible units. Response rates are commonly used to measure data quality, and low response rates could result in nonresponse bias. Response rates are therefore an important measure for education surveys, and low response rates could potentially impact the validity of estimates, analysis, and inference in education research.
